NVIDIA reports Q3 earnings: $1.07 billion in revenue, $178.3 million in net income 0

Nov10

Just yesterday, ASUS announced the first-ever quad-core tablet, packing NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 SoC, and now the chipmaker is making an announcement of its own. It may be a slightly less exciting reveal, but NVIDIA’s just taken the wraps off of its Q3 earnings, and it appears things are looking up — revenue is up 4.9 percent over last quarter to $1.07 billion from $1.02 billion and up 26.3 percent from last year.

The company also reported an increase in net income, raking in $178.3 million for Q3 2011, up from $151.6 million last quarter and $84.9 million last year. The company’s CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, unsurprisingly attributed the growth to the mobile market as well as the outfit’s GPU business, and continued to boast of future good times, riding the quad-core wave. Goodbye Nokia 600, we hardly knew ye 0

Nov2

Symbian just scored another blow. The Belle-installed Nokia 600 was announced in late August, destined to be a great music-centric phone for anyone trying to stay on a budget. Sadly, it appears its fate has been sealed before its release, as the company’s taken down any pages on its websites that are related to the product.

Then, if that weren’t enough confirmation, it also broke the news of the handset’s demise to a disappointed Facebook fan. We haven’t been given a reason for the sudden decision to cease and desist, but we’re not discounting the coincidence of this happening so shortly after the Lumia series was revealed.

Vodafone the first to launch the Nokia E7 in UK 0

Feb4

Vodafone has confirmed that it will be the first carrier in the UK to carry the Nokia’s long-awaited business smartphone E7.

Recall that the Nokia’s flagship was introduced back in September 2010 during the Nokia World expo. The handset was set to ship last month; however the company once more delayed its release.  What’s the reason? Well, no one knows so far.

The Nokia E7 is endowed with a number of high end features and that is probably the reason why it is still so expected.  First of all let’s remember that the handset runs Symbian^3 operating system and carries a Qualcomm ARM11-based processor. But these are not the only merits of the Nokia E7. Its 8-megapixel camera lets you take high resolution pictures that will be perfectly displayed on its 4-inch AMOLED screen (with a 640×360 pixels resolution). Moreover the sibling of the Nokia N8 has a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 16GB onboard storage, Wi-Fi, GPS support and HDMI-out port.

Eager to upgrade your phone to better once, surely Nokia E7 offers a lot of functionality, but first you need to sell your current mobile and get some cash for phones you used.

The iPhone 4 0

Dec23

The iPhone 4 is the latest version of the Apple smartphone and supersedes the three earlier versions offering many more features and applications.
A major difference between this phone and previous models is video calling. The phone has two cameras, one front facing and one back facing. The back facing camera is typical of those found in most modern phones, and although it is far from being the best smartphone camera, it is adequate for the majority of situations where users just want to take a quick snapshot.
However the front facing camera is designed with video calling in mind. It is not that many years ago when the only hand held video calling device people knew about was found on Star Trek, but now it is available to anyone. Apple were far from being the first smartphone manufacturer to include video calling on their phone, but other features of the phone such as its extended battery life, improved connectivity and superb display screen means that it is one of the best implementations of this technology.
This phone is also twice as fast as the iPhone 3 and a remarkable four times as fast as the original iPhone. This is down to an improved processor and software. The operating system is Apple’s IOS which is also found on the iPad. The user interface is a gesture controlled multi-touch screen with virtual sliders, buttons and switches with instantaneous response times. The phone is also equipped with an accelerometer and gyrometer which allows it to be controlled by physical movement of the body.
In addition to all the functionality of the phone, a major appeal is its design and style. It shares many design features with its predecessors, but this fourth generation model has an attractive steel rim. The phone is also flat rather than bulged as were previous models and is a little smaller. This is because the antennae have been moved from the phone to the surrounding metal band. This can cause a problem if users cover a gap on the band that separates the Bluetooth and the 3G antennae, but that is easily fixed by adding a rubber bumper or holding the phone is a slightly different manner. Is the HTC HD7 the Taiwanese firm’s answer to the iPhone? 0

For many a year now, Apple and also HTC have been fighting it out to get top spot when it comes to who may have the very best smart-phone. HTC made the decision that peppering the market industry with almost all they have would have been a far better approach compared to Apple’s concept of simply focussing on the one particular smart-phone, giving it all of their Apple power and seeing exactly where it got them. Well, so far so good for Apple as they have perched at the very top of the tree for a time now, untouchable by all around them.
Well maybe now they might start stressing a little bit about their rivals. HTC now have armed the fortress and are really rallying their own troops in this fight in an attempt to oust Apple from the top of the tree and they are getting quite close with some of their newer handsets. The likes of the HTC HD7 and the Desire HD are definitely pressing Apple’s buttons.
Everyone knows that HTC have got the ability of developing an iPhone beating smart-phone of their own although I think they’d rather just spend their funds on a couple of good devices and one or two excellent handsets instead of spending all their cash on just one awesome smart-phone. You can see their reasons behind this yet after Apple’s results with the iPhone you can only wonder if they ever thought about concentrating all their work on one unholy, unearthly great handset to blow apart the iPhone, and Steve Job’s huge mouth as well!
Whether they will do this, as of yet continues to be unknown however any kind of hardened HTC fan would perhaps live in the hope that they would do this. However the chances of them really doing it is quite slim. So we shouldn’t blabber on too much and get peoples hopes up. It simply isn’t fair; they must be able to make do using what is already available on the market at the moment.
The truth is, would be that the marketplace is constantly transforming and there are fresh mobile phones being released each month, so you might think that the Apple iPhone would struggle with new handsets being released but that isn’t the case as they tend to be so precise in the way they market their own handsets and the one, key thing is the quantity of apps that are available for you to download from the App store. This my buddy is what keeps the Apple customers happy and it is also where HTC are lacking, the majority of the HTC handsets working on Google Android and also the amount and the quality of apps that are available. If you would like one of these handsets then why don’t you have a glance around and who knows you may find some very good HTC HD7 deals.
